Complete Secondary Education
Full secondary (Local or London A/L) education is to be equivalent
to minimum of 11-12 years of study with average mark not less
than 50%.
Age limit is 17-25 .
Subject Requirements
Following
are the subject requirements for admission into the University.
Grades below "C" or 50% will not be accepted in
any of the following required subjects.
Chemistry: minimum of 1 academic year (including laboratory
work). General, Inorganic and Organic chemistry, with laboratory
work, are required. Work in qualitative analysis, quantitative
analysis, and physical chemistry is acceptable. Studied in
English medium is not compulsory.
Biology: minimum of 1 academic year (including laboratory
work). This requirement may be satisfied by General Biology
or Zoology, or by courses of Zoology and Botany, but not Botany
alone. Some exposure to genetics is recommended. Studied in
English medium is not compulsory.
English Composition and Literature: least till 10th
standard or GCE Ordinary Level.
Non-science subjects: your studies at KSMU will be
more comfortable if you have completed Physics, Mathematics,
Informatics and Computing during your carrier at Secondary
College.
Note :- Grades below "C" applicants allowed
to join KSMU through completing pre-medical course at pre-medical
faculty for the required subject.

Applicant can choose Medicine, Pharmacy or Stomatology (Dentistry)
as the undergraduate program at KSMU. (English Medium)
o
MEDICINE
The
program is designed to train qualified physicians oriented
to the practice of medicine. Standardized patients are used
to evaluate medical students and residents' ability to take
patient histories, communicate with patients, determine diagnosis
and treatment. The curriculum offers a six-year program leading
to a DOCTOR OF MEDICINE (MD) Degree.
o PHARMACY
The
Pharmaceutical Faculty prepares the students for career in
pharmacy with a thorough understanding of drugs and diseases.
The curriculum promotes interaction between pharmacists and
other health professionals. The pharmacy curriculum offers
a professional five-year program leading to a MASTER OF PHARMACY
(Pharm. D.) Degree
o STOMATOLOGY (DENTISTRY)
The
Faculty offers a five-year program of Stomatology. The teaching-learning
process is meant to emphasize the development of practical
competence. Careful attention is given to the development
of the student's personality and work habits, stressing on
personal skill that are key factors for successful careers.
